Product Description

NasalClear is the new battery operated nasal aspirator. It quickly, easily, and safely clears your baby's stuffy nose and helps her breathe more freely. The NasalClear aspirator provides you with suction that is stronger than that of a traditional manual aspirator, yet gentle enough to use safely and comfortably on your newborn or toddler. Battery operation lets you control the suction, so that you maintain the suction or release it as needed. It operates on 2 AA batteries and includes 2 different tips to accommodate different shaped nostrils and a variety of congestion conditions. The tips are made of soft silicone, making them comfortable for children of all ages.
It comes apart for easy and thorough cleaning and is dishwasher safe. NasalClear includes a plastic collection cup that helps you evaluate your baby's level of congestion. Also, the aspirator plays 12 different children's tunes to help distract the baby while in use.

Some of the reviewers are saying that the suction is not strong enough for thick mucus. This is not mucus you should be trying "suck" from your infant's head regardless, until you've loosened it up. A quick spray or dripping of something like "Little Noses" or "Ocean" saline nasal spray will do the job of loosening up mucus nicely and quickly. Apply a few drops into each nasal passage with baby lying down, let it work for a minute or two, and then suck away using the wide tip rather than the long thin tip. The wide tip forms a better seal over baby's nose and is not as invasive as the longer thinner one. This is a great product for sure!! Soooo much better than the bulbs of old. Quicker to use, so less torture for your baby and when used properly, it gets out so much more mucus than a manual bulb.
Love it. Love it. Love it.

This absolutely a great product. We've tried to stay on the "cheap" side by using the bulb every time our son gets sick. And every time I wonder why I didn't get this product as he screams and kicks when we try to use the bulb on him -- It's slow, not as effective and he hates it. Finally I broke down and bought BébéSounds Nasal Clear. Oh boy, what a difference this product has made in just the 1st day of use. It got SO MUCH out in a fraction of the time compared to the bulb!

At first I thought the music feature was such a waste of battery and a superfluous feature. But NOOOOOO... our 2-year-old would only let me suction his nose if the music was playing. We've even made a pact where I'd like him press the music button if he lets me do the suction for the duration of the music... Cool!

I am not sure why the other reviewer had a hard time getting anything out of his/her infant. But do keep in mind that for best results, the other nasal cavity plus the mouth would have to be temporarily closed for optimal effect. Just imagine how we blow our nose -- it's just not practical if you try to blow your nose while you're still breathing through your mouth! We taught our son to say "mmmmm" while we quickly apply the BébéSounds Nasal Clear on him and repeat it until we thought we got as much as we could.

If you are still sitting on the sidelines waiting to get this, don't wait -- get it. It will save you time and hassle. And it will also make your infant/toddler happier without having to go through the ineffectiveness of the bulb...
So much better than a manual aspirator

I am a first time parent of a 4 month old. I was surprised to learn that babies can't clear their own noses until they are about 3 years old. I tried using the manual bulb aspirator but my little one would get frustrated and I would have limited success clearing his nose. It usually took several attempts to get into the nostril and once there, I was only able to get good suction about 1/3 of the time. Maybe others have better luck than me but these are my stats.

I ordered the NasalClear about a week ago. I was concerned that the vacuum might be too strong for little noses or that the tips would be too invasive. The vacuum is very gentle. I prefer the shorter, stouter tip as it seems less likely to go too far up the nostril. Either tip is certainly shorter than the one on the manual bulb. The suction, while being gentle, is very effective at cleaning the nostril. I was surprised by how much a little nostril could hold. That being said, the NasalClear comes with a collecion cup that has a max fill line on it that seems absurdly large. I have yet to get even a drop into the chamber (there is quite a bit of storage space in the tubes leading to the chamber that does get filled) so I can't even imagine filling it.

I don't find the music feature to be very important.

It's a great product that works well and doesn't irritate my baby. So far, there hasn't been a tear caused by NasalClear--which is a huge improvement over the manual bulb.
Great!

both my 4 year old and my little daughter 5 month old hate having their noses suctioned! My little girl has reflux and spits up a lot, due to that she always has quite some Milkbuggers up her nose and to add to that, she's teething like a Mammoth right now which makes her congested as well. First she wanted to sqirm away, but the hummingsound that comes from it and the nice Tune it plays destracted her! Since it vibrates quite a bit I first touch her cheek with it so she knows what to expect and she immidetly calmes down and today started even to giggle because it tickled her nose!

The long and short tip are both very soft and have no sharp edges and the suction is very gentle. Yes, I do agree that it won't suck crusties out of the nose but even with a bulb, hard stuff should be soaked for a couple of seconds with a squirt of saline up the nose to soften it. Once you do that the bigger buggers will come out with the big tip!

I personally find the Bulbs to invasive and the aspirators in Hospital pretty strong, so strong that not even the stuff will use them unless the Babys oxygen drops due to stuffiness in the nose! I KNOW I just spent 1 week in the hospital in February with my duaghter due to RSV, and yes those aspirators there shouldn't be used unless there is no other way (but even there they use always saline first to soften the stuff and then use the suction)

Oh, by the way, the Aspirator comes with a handy little sack to store the tips and the easy to take apart and clean Aspirator! sure, the Suction is not as strong as the Hospital one but the Hospital cannot be used as often as you want to, this one is gentle enough and even fun for the little ones while giving them relieve and can be used as needed it is that gentle! That's why it gets 5 stars from me!
great item

This product really does clear congestion for babies! Obviously they are unable to blow their noses, and this works better than the bulb syringes. My baby cried when I used the bulb, but she loves this little gizmo. She laughs when I use it to help clear her sinuses from seasonal allergies.
AWESOME PRODUCT

I bought this a couple months ago after getting frustrated with the nasal aspirator bulb..how that thing works I will never figure out. But why use anything else when you can have one of these. It was the best money I ever spent. It works great, the music is a wonderful distraction, it is fast and easy and it really cleans out the nasal passages. I love this product and will buy one for everyone I know that has or is having a baby.
The BEST Money spent for my Daughter!

I saw this advertised in one of my parenting magazines, and decided to get it. I have a 4 month old and she is always congested( like most babies) espically this time of year. She hates the Manual nose bulbs...and cries and fusses.
With this she doesn't even flinch!! It is an AMAZING product!! I have told my doctors office about it and told them to recommend it it any parent.
It cleans up easily and is very gentle. I am sooooo glad to have this ! It is HONESTLEY the best money spent so far! THANK YOU!
Absolutely Great! Love It!

After a lot of problem clearing the nose of my toddler (2 years old) who has frequent sinus infection, I've finally decided to order a powered nasal aspirator (instead of the hand one I had). I should have done this a long time ago, this device is fantastic and cleared out my daugther's nose in no time. One little advice is to use the aspirator at 90 degree angle as suggested in the book and it works great. She stills complain a little bit, but nothing like the screaming I had with the hand nasal aspirator. I recommend this product to anyone who really wants to help their kids breath better.
